Galaxy bag

Since I've started painting Galaxy shirts, I've became kind of obsessed with galaxy patterns LOL. The thing is that I love the way that each pattern looks completely different from others. So I've finally found time to make one Galaxy bag.

Galaxy bag convertible to backpack

I've used acrylic paints to create this galactic design. Purple nebula is painted with metallic violet and pink, while stars are silver and gold. Being very happy for having glow-in-the-dark paints, I couldn't resist to add stars that are very effective when they start glowing. Unfortunately, I didn't find a way yet to make a photo of a glow-in-the-dark effect (but I'm still working on it, since most of my magic wands, which I have presented in one of my previous posts are glow-in-the-dark). I also hand embroidered one gold star, with metallic gold thread.

For this project I've used the reliable vintage army bag, which have proven to be THE best bags in the world, not only for painting purpose, because the canvas fabric is so smooth but tight and firm at the same time, but for the number of other reasons. They are practically indestructible and water resistant. Their size and multi-functionality makes them ideal for various uses: as a  men diaper bag, book bag, school bag,  hiking bag, everyday bag etc. As an additional treat, it's a heavy-duty bag and can carry a lot of weight - up to 10 kg = 22 lbs (but men have sworn to me that they were carrying even 15 kg in it - about 33 lbs).

These bags have been designed for former Yugoslav National Army as combat backpack. Their design is very practical: bag has one spacious pocket on front side, and two pockets inside (one can be inverted outside the bag and still carry load). The bag is convertible from backpack to messenger bag - it has two straps which can be detached and converted from backpack straps to shoulder / crossbody strap. The straps are padded to secure comfort while carrying heavy load. It has two additional straps on the bottom for carrying objects (such as changing baby mat, umbrella, yoga mat, or rolled jacket).

Example of inner design and load that can be carried inside the bag (bigger books are A4 format)
What I also love about these bags is that they can be easily converted from a backpack to a messenger bag. These are bags with different paintings, but the same model.
Approximate dimensions: W 11" (28 cm), H 10" (25 cm), depth 3 1/2 " (9 cm).

The bag with painting from the first photo is available and ready to ship (just send me a private message with query). The bag with painting from the second photo is currently available and ready to ship in a slightly different painting variation (ask for details in private message).

Introducing My Dragon Eggs Species - General Introduction

For more than one year now I've been making my original dragon eggs with dragon stories. Dragon eggs are hand made and there are several dragon species, of which each has different dragon story. I print dragon stories on a tiny scroll with antique look, and for a while now I also offer additional feature: personalized Dragon Keeper Certificate. My duty is to warn people of possible consequences, so I always add this warning:
CAUTION: If you put the egg into fire, you do that at your own risk! It will either burn or hatch a dragon.

Golden Dust dragon egg

Last year I've announced that I will introduce my original dragon eggs, and for reasons unknown to me, I did not do that. Perhaps I was too busy and too distracted by everything, so I forgot and neglected my blog. Therefore, I will start this all over again.

My dragon eggs come in 6 different sizes, from S to 3XL. S dragon eggs are about 6,5 cm in height (about 2 1/2 ") and 3XL dragon eggs are 22 cm (almost 9").

Dragon eggs sizes
Some people ask me how I make my dragon eggs. What I can say is that each scale is individually cut and attached to an egg base, with lot of hard work, magic and love. Then they are covered with layers of acrylic paint and finished with two coats of acrylic spray, so the are very durable. I don't use ingredients of animal origin.

Currently I have 7 dragon species, and preparing 3 more:
  1. Starry Dragon
  2. Fire Heart
  3. Twilight Storm
  4. Sky Master
  5. Fire and Ice Twin Dragons
  6. Midnight Shadow
  7. Golden Dust
  8. Forest Blast
  9. Galaxy Protector
  10. Red Torch (coming soon)
All dragon eggs can be purchased directly from me, or from my shop on Etsy.

Before I've made my first original dragon egg, I've made a set of dragon eggs inspired by Game of Thrones series (I'm a huuuuuuge fan). This was the first dragon egg I've ever made.

And this is the first dragon egg set I've made. It was inspired by Game of Thrones. Rhaegal, Drogon and Viserion tucked in a chest. :) Dracarys!

Recently I've made dragon eggs set inspired by the book A Song of Ice and Fire, and the eggs match the description from the book:
One egg was a deep green, with burnished bronze flecks that came and went depending on how Dany turned it. Another was pale cream streaked with gold. The last was black, as black as a midnight sea, yet alive with scarlet ripples and swirls.

This is pretty much all for this post. I will introduce each specie individually, so keep posted.

Magic Wands

My imagination takes me to different places and gives me new ideas. One of those ideas were inspired by fantasy, which is no wonder, because deep inside I am and always have been a geek.

This year I also started crafting magic wands. It was shy at the beginning, but then I let my imagination take me. My magic wands had their first live premiere at Potter Mania con, ant it was a huge success.

When making magic wands, I always pay attention not to make two wands that are the same. They are all unique and one of a kind. And they're all kitty approved ;)

Kitty approved magic wands

A part of kitty approval process.

As you can see, my apprentice takes her job very seriously, so each and every single wand is carefully inspected. She even helps me during process of making wands, so everything is done properly, as a witch should do it ;)))

In the process of making wands, I have a cat on my back, as a real witch should ;)))

My magic wands can be used for cosplay, fantasy themed parties, LARP, or just for fun and they are ideal as a gift for geeks, since they come in custom made boxes. Below are photographs of my magic wands, of which many have already found their witches and wizards. To check availability of a particular wand, you can send me a private message, or go to my shop (please note that not all wands are listed in my shop, I add them daily, so you should check availability by sending me a message, if you don't see your favorite wand). Majority of my magic wands have glow-in-the dark features, which is explained in the listings.

This is the first series of magic wands I've made. Most of them are gone, and only 3 wands from this photo are available.
My first series of magic wands

All wands from the second series of magic wands (photo below) have already found their wizard and witches.

Magic wands - all sold out.

Before Potter Mania con I was so busy, that I did not have time to even photograph my magic wands, so this is the only acceptable photo I have, courtesy to my kind colleague Bojana. At this moment, several wands were already sold, so some wands from the third series haven't been photographed at all.

Design by Wendy's magic wands @ Potter Mania con.

That is why now I am very careful now to photograph all freshly made wands. :)))

Only three wands left from this series.

There are many more magic wands available, but I've already posted too many photos, so I'll post them next time. In the meanwhile, check my shop to see new wands, and find the one that was made for you. :)

Galaxy Tshirts - part 2

As I've promised in my previous post, I'm introducing available Galaxy tshirts. There are only 6 Galaxy shirts left, and I don't plan to make new shirts in the next month or two, as I'm struggling with this enormous heat wave, because I'm probably one of the few people left in the world not  having air condition at my home (I'm extremely sensitive to a/c, and it can cause me numerous health issues), So, here they are, the 6 remaining Galaxy tshirts, which you can buy from my shop on Etsy, or directly from me. Each hand painted galaxy tee is one of a kind, and it is not possible to repeat the same pattern twice.

Galaxy Tshirts

Remember my Galaxy shirt DIY project from last year? This year, I've decided to make more Galaxy shirts.

I've made several Galaxy tshirts in late May, and these are the ones that already found their new owners. I will post more Galaxy tees, which are currently available, in my next blog post. As you can see from photos, all Galaxy shirts are hand painted and one of a kind - there are no two alike.

This was my first sold shirt. I am very proud to say that it was bought by my colleague, who is also a crafter herself. :)
Black and gold Galaxy shirt that was sold first.

This is the other shirt that I've managed to photograph on it's new owner.

Sleeveless Galaxy shirt.

Black and gold refashioned Galaxy t shirt, sold to my old customer. :)

This shirt was the most difficult to photograph. Actually, it looks lousy here, but in reality, it looks much better. Also bought by my other fellow crafter.

Blue-gray Galaxy shirt - my colleague bought it :)

And this is my old shirt, from last years project. I've decided to re-design it. Unfortunately, the fabric of my own shirt is inadequate for painting, because the surface is ribbed and textile paints cannot stick, so the design doesn't last long.
